Greek Theaterの記事が出てないか探してたら、こんな記事がありました。
A Beck of all trades, master of several 音楽の話じゃなくて、車や、家の話とか。 日本に来たとき、あるジャズドラマーが、Jeffの髪の毛がカツラじゃないか、引っ張らせてくれって頼んだらしいです； 本物だってば（笑） あと、コルベットを最近買ったらしいですね。 庭仕事に熱中してるらしいのは聞いてたけど、家の補修にも熱心みたい。断熱材をはがして、新しい屋根を乗せて、もともとの姿に戻してるんだそうな。 多分、前の住人が、昔のままの家だと住みにくいから、断熱材入れたり、いろいろしてあったんだろうね。 それを剥がしたら当然寒くなるわけで、そのために、でっかい暖炉があるんだそうです。 住みにくくても、元の姿で保ちたいってのは立派だなと思うけど、年取ってから寒いのはこたえるよ； 健康には気を使ってね^^; つか、(多分）文句言わずに付き合ってるサンドラさんに拍手（笑） ところで、この記事を書いたライターさんは、Greek Theaterのレビューも書いてるらしいのですが、どこに載ってる記事なのかな？ いまいちわかんないです。 内容も、なんか、トラブルがあったことと、コンサートがあんまり盛り上がらなかったみたいなこと書いてる？ ファンの人の話では、すっごく良かったそうですけど。 この人のレビュー、まだしっかり読んでませんが、まったくだめって事は書いてないみたいでほっとしました。 Jeff Beck concert at the Greek a master class in showmanship By Fred Shuster, Music Writer Jeff Beck nearly recreated his infamous guitar-smasheroo scene from a '60s film classic Thursday when his gear went on the fritz midway through a Greek Theatre date. The crowd held its collective breath as the British guitar god became exasperated at a persistent buzzing noise (hey, in some places that's considered dance music) emanating from his amp. Movie buffs flashed back to the club scene in Michelangelo Antonioni's mod- London classic, "Blow-Up," where Beck clubs his ax to death after his equipment shorts out at a Yardbirds gig. This time, a roadie rushed on stage, but not before Beck made a few exploratory pokes at his Marshall stack with the business end of his Strat. It was an amusing moment during a concert where a largely middle- aged male crowd sat in awe as the 62-year-old rock legend conducted a master class in showmanship and song interpretation. For the Greek date, Beck and his merely tolerable road band were joined at points by an Indian violinist, a string section and blues belter Beth Hart. Nothing mattered, though, except Beck's 10 fingers (and no pick). In a wide-ranging set that didn't peak until the encore, he ran through such classics as the dramatic "Beck's Bolero," the gorgeous ballad "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" and a bruising "Led Boots." Beck has always been the definitive six-string show-off ・albeit a thrilling --------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------- Advertisement --------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------- and witty one ・and the gutsy noises he wrenches from his cream- colored Fender mimic the revved-up Fords he rebuilds at home. At the same time, he excels only when challenged by players of his own caliber, and while he's had fine outfits in the past ・most notably the "Rough & Ready" group of the early '70s ・the current ensemble is clearly incapable of lighting much of a fire beneath anyone. Hart, though, managed to extract some heat from the band leader with full-throated readings of "You Shook Me" and "Going Down." The best came last on Thursday with an epic interpretation of the Beatles' "A Day in the Life," in which the guitarist spoke volumes about all sorts of things without uttering a word. As a final gift, Beck bestowed a moving "Over the Rainbow" in a heartfelt rendering that echoed with birdsong.
